[Saba Sports News] Since winning a Grand Prix for Ferrari in 2013, Spanish driver Fernando Alonso has been seeking opportunities to return to the championship podium. In the 2023 F1 season, he frequently reached the podium and demonstrated his competitive spirit in the Monaco Grand Prix. However, the Aston Martin AMR24 car in 2024 lacks competitiveness, preventing Alonso from replicating last season’s glory. Nevertheless, the team made a series of significant signings in their technical lineup, including former Mercedes engine chief Andy Cowell, former Ferrari chassis technical director Enrico Cardile, and former Red Bull chief technical officer Adrian Newey, significantly enhancing Aston Martin’s technical strength and laying a solid foundation for the 2025 season. Recently, the Aston Martin F1 team upgraded its infrastructure, with new wind tunnels and simulators being debugged and set to be put into operation. F1 website reporter Lawrence Barreto is optimistic about Aston Martin’s future development and believes Alonso is likely to return to the championship podium.
