[Saba Sports News] F1 legendary engineer Adrian Newey has rarely given media interviews. Due to contract stipulations, he cannot officially start working until March of this year. He mentioned that this year he is mainly familiarizing himself with the team and engineering. Once he takes over, he will fully focus on the 2026 season, which will see significant changes in F1. For the 2026 season, Aston Martin will collaborate with Honda on the power unit, a partnership Newey is quite familiar with, and he is confident about the team’s prospects. Newey’s joining Aston Martin will represent a new change, as he will come on board as a technical partner with management responsibilities and hold shares in the team. He will primarily be responsible for overseeing the design of Aston Martin’s new car to tackle the impending rule changes in the 2026 season. He plans to use a completely new factory that includes a new wind tunnel and car simulator to ensure the smooth development of the new car.
