[Saba Sports News] Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball made waves early in the first quarter against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday with a highlight play. Intercepting a Tyrese Haliburton pass intended for Andrew Nembhard, Lonzo sprinted down the court on a fast break. Despite Haliburton’s chase, Ball capped off the play with a smooth left-handed layup.
The Pacers’ broadcaster reacted with the line, “Able to swerve, bend that corner,” catching the ear of fans familiar with LiAngelo Ball’s debut rap track, Tweaker.
Released just a week earlier under Born to Ball Music Group, the song includes the lyrics, “I might swerve, bend that corner, Woah.” LiAngelo, also known as “G3,” has been making waves in the rap world, with the track quickly racking up over five million views on WorldStarHipHop and earning co-signs from artists like Lil Yachty and T-Pain.
LiAngelo’s music has made its way into locker rooms across the league and is set to reach even bigger stages, with a performance scheduled for Rolling Loud California 2025.
Fans noted the nostalgic mid-2000s vibe of Tweaker, further cementing its viral success. Lonzo, along with his brother LaMelo, has been seen vibing to the hit track, which has turned LiAngelo into a rising star in the music industry.
Although LiAngelo’s basketball journey hasn’t panned out as planned, his transition to music has opened new doors. Meanwhile, Lonzo has dabbled in music as well, having released two albums and expressing that he might have pursued rap full-time if not for basketball.
During his extended recovery from knee injuries, Lonzo spent time writing and recording songs in the studio.
In response to fans linking *Tweaker*’s lyrics to Lonzo, the Bulls guard clarified on social media, saying, “Only credit I deserve is the cover art lol G really that!” The Ball brothers’ podcast has often showcased their bond, with Lonzo frequently praising LiAngelo’s untapped potential—though it now seems to extend beyond basketball.
As for Wednesday’s game, Lonzo’s play was a rare highlight for the Bulls, who trailed 29-18 after the first quarter and eventually lost 129-113. Lonzo finished with five points, three rebounds, two steals, one block, and one assist in 19 minutes of action.
While the Bulls continue to face challenges, the Ball brothers’ off-court ventures are keeping their names in the spotlight.
