[Saba Sports News] Before the 2024 F1 British Grand Prix, French driver Esteban Ocon visited the Williams F1 team factory for a seat fitting. At that time, the media was reporting that Ocon was about to leave the Alpine F1 team, but Ocon did not inform the team management in advance. However, the Alpine A110 sports car he was driving, being a company car, was required to have a GPS tracking system installed. According to the tracking signal, the A110 stayed in the parking lot of the Williams factory for five hours. Therefore, the senior management of the Alpine team soon learned of Ocon’s unwillingness to renew his contract. On June 3, 2024, the Alpine team officially announced that Ocon would leave the team at the end of his contract this season. Surprisingly, Ocon ultimately did not join the Williams team but instead joined Haas. In a recent interview, Ocon complained about the way he parted ways with the Alpine team, stating that it was not a peaceful negotiation but rather the team management forced him to choose between participating in Alpine’s last race and joining Haas for the season tests. It seems that Ocon’s experience with the Alpine F1 team was not pleasant.
