[Saba Sports News] After a 14-month hiatus, star Indian batter Virat Kohli rejoined Team India’s T20I squad. Kohli, absent from the first match of the T20I series for personal reasons, marked his return with a dynamic performance against Afghanistan in Indore. His presence electrified the crowd, who cheered enthusiastically during his game highlights.
However, an unusual event occurred during Kohli’s stint. A fan, seizing a bold moment, entered the field to meet his idol while Kohli was fielding near the boundary. The fan embraced Kohli passionately, and the Delhi-based cricket star warmly reciprocated. This endearing episode happened during Team India’s 18th over of bowling.
Continuing his excellent form in limited-overs cricket, Kohli scored 29 runs off 15 balls in the second T20I. His innings included five boundaries but was cut short when he was caught in the mid-off region by Ibrahim Zadran. Kohli maintained a striking rate of 181.25 during his time at the crease in Indore.
In another development, Indore police apprehended the fan for invading the field during the game, citing public safety and potential risk to Kohli. Investigations revealed that the fan had climbed over a fence from the spectator area to reach Kohli.
The Tukoganj police, while still interrogating, confirmed that the young fan had a valid match ticket. The police also noted that he was a devoted Kohli fan and had entered the field through a gate named after former Indian cricketer Narendra Hirwani.
