[Saba Sports News] The UK Treasury released a major announcement last week, declaring the Old Trafford project as a shining example of the government’s plan to promote economic growth. Manchester United is working with the Trafford Council and Greater Manchester Combined Authority to develop a renovation plan for the Old Trafford area, centered on building a world-class stadium for Manchester United. According to preliminary reports, the renovated Old Trafford Stadium will accommodate 87,000 spectators, while the new stadium is planned to hold 100,000. Manchester United will make a final decision at the end of the season on whether to renovate the existing stadium or build a new one. It is likely that Manchester United will choose to renovate the existing stadium, as this option allows for the preservation of Old Trafford’s historical legacy while enhancing stadium facilities. Compared to a complete rebuild, renovating the existing stadium may be more cost-effective, as it can fully utilize existing facilities and structures. During the renovation, Manchester United may still be able to hold matches and training at the current stadium, which would have a relatively small impact on the team.
