[Saba Sports News] Former F1 driver Johnny Herbert has served multiple times as an FIA F1 race official in 2024, and during the Mexican Grand Prix, he imposed a 20-second penalty on Max Verstappen. At that time, he issued stern criticism towards Verstappen, pointing out that his driving style is harsh, especially when he forces another driver off the track. Such behavior is intolerable to current drivers, former drivers, and other race officials. Johnny Herbert revealed that although he is a loyal fan of Verstappen, he feels very frustrated when Verstappen drives like he did in the Mexican Grand Prix. After the conclusion of the 2024 season, Herbert was relieved of his position as an F1 race official. Before leaving, he issued one last warning to Verstappen, stating that if he attempts to control other drivers and intimidate everyone on the track with his driving style as he did last year, other drivers will stand up and resist, with George Russell being one of them.
