[Saba Sports News] The Lakers shook up the NBA by landing Luka Doncic, and now one of their biggest rivals might be looking to make a splash of their own.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Golden State Warriors have explored the possibility of bringing Kevin Durant back to the Bay Area.
Even more ambitiously, some within the Warriors’ front office have entertained the idea of acquiring both Durant and LeBron James. However, with LeBron holding a no-trade clause—and the Lakers unlikely to deal him to Golden State—that scenario seems highly unlikely.
The Warriors have also been linked to Jimmy Butler, who is reportedly pushing for a trade from Miami. However, potential obstacles could complicate any deal for the Heat star.
Both the Warriors and Suns have struggled to break into true contender status this season, hovering around .500. Phoenix seems more likely to become a seller before the deadline, with another one of their stars also in trade rumors.
At 36, Durant is still delivering at an elite level, averaging 26.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. A Golden State reunion may be a long shot, but after the Lakers’ stunning Doncic deal, nothing can be ruled out.
