[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, Manchester City signed Porto midfielder Nico González for a transfer fee of around €60 million. It is reported that Barcelona will receive €13.32 million from this transfer. Porto stated that they have exercised an option to purchase the player from Barcelona at a 20% increase in value, worth €3 million, meaning Barcelona retains only 20% of the transfer increase and cancels their €30 million buyback option that was available until June 30, 2025. The specifics of the transaction are as follows: Barcelona will receive 20% of the €60 million transfer fee paid by Manchester City, amounting to €10.32 million. Additionally, since Barcelona originally held a 40% stake, the €3 million paid by Porto for half of the increased value will also go into Barcelona’s account. In total, Barcelona will earn €13.32 million from this transfer. Overall, when adding the €8.5 million transfer fee that Porto paid to Barcelona in the summer of 2023, the player has brought in a total of €21.82 million in revenue for the club.
