[Saba Sports News] It is well-known that current F1 Red Bull driver Max Verstappen is a fan of sim racing games and even formed an esports team for this purpose. With the new F1 season underway, media recently interviewed Verstappen regarding his expectations for the season. Verstappen stated that he has not left sim racing during the off-season, explaining, “People often think that sim racing is just a game and it’s easy and fun. But I want to say that winning in sim racing is just as competitive as in real racing, if not harder.” Verstappen has achieved significant success in sim racing; during the Daytona 24-hour esports race, although his team did not win the overall championship, they secured the title in the GTD class. I believe that while Verstappen holds sim racing in high regard, both sim racing and real racing have their unique characteristics and challenges, making them integral parts of motorsport.
