[Saba Sports News] German football legend Lothar Matthaus recently revealed in an interview that he will participate in the Beckenbauer Legends Match, hosted by Bayern Munich next month. Matthaus expressed pride in being part of this special event held in honor of Franz Beckenbauer. He stated, “I am very proud to be part of this special event in honor of Beckenbauer. I look forward to this match and reuniting with my teammates and colleagues.” This event not only pays tribute to the football legend Beckenbauer but is also one of the important activities celebrating Bayern Munich’s 125th anniversary. Matthaus had a brilliant career, playing for Bayern Munich from 1984 to 2000, winning seven German league titles, three German Cups, and one UEFA Cup. He was also named FIFA World Player of the Year in 1990 and 1991, leading Germany to World Cup victory in 1990 as captain.
