[Saba Sports News] On February 17, badminton world champion Bao Chunlai celebrated his 42nd birthday by hosting a live stream. During the broadcast, Bao revealed that he has lost hearing in his right ear. He mentioned that he always believed that athletes should have good physical fitness, but he never expected to have issues with his ear. The problem arose suddenly while he was doing abdominal exercises, when he experienced a sudden ringing in his right ear, followed by complete loss of hearing. Since then, he has had to rely on his left ear to perceive the world. Bao revealed that friends around him sometimes notice his hearing difficulties and even ask if his condition has worsened, as he often struggles to hear others in conversations. In noisy environments, it is particularly challenging for him to catch what others are saying. As a result, he has gradually learned to understand others through lip reading. With a hint of humor, he noted that while his body is generally fine, his ear has some issues, and he might consider participating in the Paralympics. His positive and optimistic attitude has earned him respect and encouragement from many netizens.
