[Saba Sports News] The Dallas Mavericks’ latest social media post has fans calling it an “amateur hour” blunder.
Ahead of their first game after the NBA All-Star break, the Mavs shared a hype video featuring an original song by Dallas rapper Dorrough, spliced with game footage. But eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed something odd—former franchise star Luka Doncic had been awkwardly edited out of several clips in the most unconvincing way possible.
In multiple shots, Doncic’s figure was sloppily grayed out or covered with a glaringly misplaced Mavs logo. Meanwhile, other former players like Josh Green and Maxi Kleber remained untouched in the footage.
The bizarre censorship sparked widespread mockery online, with many roasting the Mavericks for their half-hearted editing job.
Dallas has done everything possible to distance itself from Doncic since trading him to the Los Angeles Lakers, from taking jabs at his weight and defense to questioning his work ethic.
The abrupt trade and the team’s handling of Doncic’s exit already frustrated many fans, and this latest editing fiasco isn’t helping their case.
