[Saba Sports News] Turns out, “The Joker” has some jokes of his own.
Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic had a laugh this week while reflecting on one of the most famous memes from his career.
In a video feature on the team’s official YouTube page, Jokic addressed the viral moment from the 2014 NBA Draft—when his selection at No. 41 overall was quietly revealed on the TV ticker during a Taco Bell commercial.
“I think I’ve never had Taco Bell just because of that,” Jokic quipped.
The meme has stuck with Jokic throughout his rise to NBA superstardom, serving as a hilarious reminder of just how far he’s come. Now 30, Jokic has racked up seven All-Star appearances, three MVP awards, and a 2023 NBA championship and Finals MVP trophy.
Safe to say, the Nuggets struck gold with their second-round pick—Taco Bell ad or not.
This season, Jokic has only elevated his game further, averaging career highs in points (29.4), rebounds (12.7), and assists (10.2) per game. Unlike some other NBA stars, he clearly doesn’t need a Crunchwrap Supreme in his diet to dominate.
