[Saba Sports News] Jayson Tatum found himself on the receiving end of online mockery after a celebratory gesture against the Cleveland Cavaliers backfired on Friday.
Tatum’s Boston Celtics came out firing at TD Garden, jumping to an 11-0 lead and later stretching it to 25-3 before Cleveland started to claw back.
Midway through the first quarter, Tatum drained a three-pointer with 7:12 left, forcing the Cavs to call a timeout. Fired up, he punctuated the moment with a dismissive “f–k outta here” gesture, confident in Boston’s dominant start.
However, that confidence proved premature. Cleveland trimmed the deficit to 12 points by the end of the first quarter and had cut it to 10 at halftime. The Cavs then stormed back in the second half, ultimately pulling off a 123-116 comeback win.
Tatum still put up monster numbers, finishing with 46 points on 19-of-37 shooting, along with 16 rebounds, 9 assists, and 3 blocks.
Despite the stellar stat line, fans wasted no time roasting Tatum for his early celebration, which aged poorly as Cleveland flipped the script.
