[Saba Sports News] Recently, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen publicly criticized the Netflix documentary “Drive to Survive” for its portrayal of him, particularly a segment after the Miami Grand Prix where he is depicted as being upset about Lando Norris’s victory. Verstappen expressed strong dissatisfaction, claiming that this depiction was seriously misleading. In the 2024 Miami Grand Prix, Norris defeated Verstappen to win his first F1 race. This victory not only made Norris a contender for the Driver of the Year title but also ended Verstappen’s winning streak. However, in Season 7 of “Drive to Survive,” Verstappen is portrayed as dejected after the race, even shown with his head down against a wall, appearing very upset. In response, Verstappen stated during a live stream that he had just completed an exciting race that night and enjoyed competing with Norris, questioning why he was depicted as feeling sad. Verstappen’s fans also defended him, pointing out that he was not only happy for Norris after the race but also celebrated with him and even went out partying. It is reported that this is not the first time Verstappen has criticized Netflix’s “Drive to Survive.” Since the show’s inception, Verstappen has been cautious about its dramatized storytelling.
