[Saba Sports News] Kawhi Leonard wasn’t following daylight saving time on Sunday—he was turning the clock all the way back to 2019. The Los Angeles Clippers star delivered a vintage game-winner against the Sacramento Kings, reminiscent of his most iconic shot.
With the Clippers trailing 110-109 and just 21.1 seconds left in overtime at Intuit Dome, Leonard took control. He received the ball at the top of the key, drove on Keegan Murray, and launched a floater as all five Kings players collapsed around him. The ball bounced on the rim multiple times before finally dropping in as time expired.
For a player known for his calm demeanor, Leonard was unusually fired up after the dramatic finish. Fans immediately drew comparisons to his legendary four-bounce buzzer-beater that sent the Toronto Raptors past the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 7 of the 2019 Eastern Conference semifinals.
Now 33 and far removed from his peak Raptors days, Leonard had struggled for most of the night, scoring just 15 points on 6-of-18 shooting before the game’s final possession. But when the moment called for him, he proved once again that he can still deliver in the clutch.
