[Saba Sports News] Before the second leg of the UEFA Nations League quarterfinal match between Scotland and Greece, legendary Scottish manager Sir Alex Ferguson attended the event to support the Scottish national team and to pay tribute to the late Scottish star and former Manchester United player Denis Law. Ferguson had a close personal relationship with Law and once stated that Law was his hero during his playing days, as Law achieved remarkable accomplishments in football. He played for Manchester United from 1962 to 1973, making 404 appearances and scoring 237 goals, ranking third in the club’s all-time scoring list. He helped Manchester United win two English First Division titles, one FA Cup, two Community Shields, and the 1968 European Cup, among other honors. He was also awarded the “European Footballer of the Year” in 1964 and is regarded as one of the greatest players in Manchester United’s history. Ferguson holding up the jersey is a high recognition of Law’s outstanding achievements at Manchester United and in the entire football world, emphasizing Law’s significant place in football history.
