[Saba Sports News] Midway through the second quarter at Footprint Center, Brooks picked up a foul while defending Suns star Kevin Durant. Even after the whistle, the two continued battling for the ball. Durant shoved Brooks, who responded with a signature grin and some trash talk aimed right back at the former MVP.
Brooks then shifted his attention to Suns big man Nick Richards, who stepped in to back up KD. Things escalated quickly, prompting players and coaches to step in and separate the group. Still, Brooks kept chirping—this time at the officials—while Rockets staff tried to hold him back.
Referee Justin Van Duyne eventually had enough. After issuing double technicals to Brooks and Durant, he handed Brooks a second tech, resulting in an early exit. Brooks wrapped up his night with eight points on 3-of-7 shooting. Richards also received a technical foul.
Oddly enough, the drama might’ve sparked the Rockets. They closed the half on a 23-11 run and cruised to a 148-109 win.
Brooks has made a habit of poking NBA stars, and the list of feuds is starting to look like an All-Star roster: LeBron James, Trae Young, Anthony Edwards, Zion Williamson—and now, Kevin Durant.
