[Saba Sports News] Zion Williamson’s 2024–25 season has once again been cut short, but the New Orleans Pelicans star is already looking ahead—and making changes aimed at improving his future durability.
On Wednesday’s episode of NBA Today, ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins revealed that Williamson recently underwent a “reset” within his inner circle. As part of that reset, the 24-year-old forward has reportedly added a nutritionist to his team in an effort to better manage his health and conditioning.
Williamson was officially shut down for the season after appearing in just 30 games—marking the fourth time in five years he’s played 30 or fewer games in a season.
He missed significant time this year due to a hamstring injury, while the Pelicans have struggled badly, sitting near the bottom of the league at 21-54.
Despite flashes of dominance on the court—he averaged 24.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists this season—Williamson has faced persistent concerns about his conditioning and ability to stay healthy. Though reports in recent months have indicated that he’s slimmed down considerably, his injury history continues to raise red flags.
Williamson has previously been linked to poor dietary habits, but hiring a nutritionist signals a more serious and structured approach to maintaining his body going forward. If he can stay on this new path, it could finally unlock the consistent greatness that has eluded him so far in his NBA career.
