[Saba Sports News] The 37-year-old former Bayern Munich player Luiz Gustavo Dias, who has been playing for the Brazilian team Sao Paulo since January 2024, was recently hospitalized for pulmonary embolism. According to reports, Gustavo felt chest pain before training last Saturday and was immediately sent to Albert Einstein Hospital after being checked by the club’s medical department. There, he underwent imaging tests and was officially diagnosed with pulmonary embolism. Sao Paulo’s club announcement also revealed: “Gustavo has been admitted to the hospital for observation and treatment and will remain there for several days until further tests are completed.” It is worth noting that the former Brazilian national team player played a full match in Sao Paulo’s 1-0 victory over CA Talleres in the Copa Libertadores, but now he has been diagnosed with pulmonary embolism. Throughout his career, Gustavo played in the Bundesliga for many years, including at Bayern Munich from 2011 to 2013, at Hoffenheim from 2007 to 2011, and at Wolfsburg from 2013 to 2017.
