[Saba Sports News] Alijah Arenas may have just turned 18, but he’s already making big moves off the court.
The son of former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, Alijah revealed in a recent interview with TMZ Sports that he’s set to sign an endorsement deal with Adidas.
It’s a full-circle moment for the Arenas family—Gilbert, now 43, was once one of Adidas’ headline athletes and even had his own signature shoe, the Adidas Gil Zero. That partnership ended abruptly in 2009 after Gilbert’s infamous locker room incident during his time with the Washington Wizards.
As for Alijah, the 6-foot-6 shooting guard is building a serious résumé of his own. This past season at Chatsworth High School in California, he averaged a jaw-dropping 30.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. He earned McDonald’s All-American honors and recently reclassified to the 2025 recruiting class, making him NBA Draft-eligible in 2026.
Back in February, Alijah announced his commitment to a top Southern California program, choosing them over powerhouses like Kentucky, Louisville, Kansas, and Arizona. But before he even suits up in college, he’ll already be joining Adidas’ growing roster of talent—a list that now includes their first-ever lifetime NBA athlete.
Looks like the Arenas name is about to be back in the spotlight—this time with the next generation.
