[Saba Sports News] Things got a little spicy on Sunday between Steph Curry and Rockets head coach Ime Udoka during a tense matchup at Chase Center.
The Houston Rockets held a narrow 51-50 lead over the Golden State Warriors at halftime, capping off a fiery first half that ended with Fred VanVleet missing two free throws and Draymond Green visibly fired up.
As the teams walked off the court, cameras caught Curry having a back-and-forth with Udoka.
Curry may have been feeling the frustration, as Houston’s defense had him locked up all night. The Warriors star managed just three points in the first half, shooting 1-of-3 with two turnovers.
Unfortunately for Golden State, things didn’t improve after the break—Curry was held scoreless in the second half, finishing with just one bucket on 10 shots in 33 minutes of play.
With Steph neutralized, Udoka’s Rockets secured a 106-96 win on the Warriors’ home floor.
After the game, Udoka brushed off the sideline spat. “He said something. I said something. Just some friendly banter,” he said.
Udoka’s not exactly shy when it comes to verbal exchanges—he was ejected last season after a courtside clash with LeBron James.
The game had real stakes, too. The loss dropped Golden State to 46-32, creating a four-way logjam with the Clippers, Timberwolves, and Grizzlies in the Western Conference standings.
Meanwhile, the Rockets remain second in the West, setting up a potential first-round collision with the Warriors if the seeding holds.
