[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, job postings from multiple Premier League clubs have been found banning white males from applying, with only Black, Asian, mixed-race individuals, and women being eligible. Reports suggest that the Premier League may have made a legal error, as many clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool, have opened coaching positions exclusively to minority groups and women. An expired recruitment advertisement from Manchester United showed that the 23-month youth coach position ending next month required applicants to belong to groups underrepresented in English professional football—Black, Asian, mixed-race backgrounds, and women from all ethnicities. This initiative aims to address the imbalance in representation in football coaching and accepts applications only from the specified backgrounds. A similar advertisement from Liverpool stated that only coaches currently underrepresented in English professional football—Black, Asian, mixed-race backgrounds, and women from all ethnicities—would be considered. Similar wording appeared in job listings from Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Everton, Newcastle United, West Ham United, Leicester City, Brighton, and Bournemouth among others. Several affected clubs told the media that the ad template was provided by the Premier League, and that the template has since been updated to no longer explicitly ban white males from applying.
