[Saba Sports News] One Detroit Pistons player has clearly had enough of Jalen Brunson’s antics.
Pistons center Jalen Duren went viral Tuesday night for a profane outburst directed at the New York Knicks star during Game 5 of their first-round playoff series at Madison Square Garden. After Brunson fell to the floor on a drive in the first half, Duren stood over him and yelled, “You flopping motherf—er.” The moment quickly made the rounds on social media.
Brunson’s reputation for flopping has become a recurring topic throughout the series. The Pistons have openly expressed frustration with what they see as Brunson’s exaggerated reactions to contact—frustration that’s only grown as Brunson has earned frequent trips to the free-throw line.
After averaging a career-high 6.9 free throw attempts per game in the regular season, Brunson entered Tuesday’s game averaging 9.0 attempts per contest in the series, converting those opportunities into 30 total points from the line alone through four games.
Duren isn’t the only Piston who’s taken issue with Brunson. Another Detroit player had already called him out for flopping earlier in the series. Brunson also drew criticism for a questionable eye poke on a Pistons player during Game 3, further adding to the bad blood.
