[Saba Sports News] According to recent revelations by German media, Red Bull Racing’s top driver Max Verstappen plans to compete in the Nurburgring 24-hour endurance race in 2026. However, recent news suggests that he might face obstacles. Since FIA Super Licenses hold no privilege under Germany’s DMSB system, Verstappen must reprove his eligibility to drive GT cars. According to the requirements of the German Racing Association, applying for track participation permits requires a minimum of 10 hours of actual driving evaluation, including at least 4 hours of night testing. Currently, Verstappen’s agent has contacted local teams to arrange two NLS series qualifying races next month to ensure he can participate in the 24-hour endurance race in 2026. We believe this presents an opportunity for him to expand his racing career and pursue new challenges. Although he has achieved remarkable success in F1, endurance races differ significantly from F1 races in terms of car performance, driving strategy, and teamwork. By obtaining the Nurburgring 24-hour race license, he can try different types of racing, enriching his racing career experiences and pushing his driving limits.
