[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Thomas Tuchel will take advantage of England’s training camp in Catalonia next month to get players accustomed to the potentially high temperatures they might face during the World Cup. England will play a World Cup qualifying match against Andorra in Barcelona on June 7. Before the match, the team chose to train outside of the Saint George Park base and instead focused on training in the outskirts of Girona. Tuchel clearly understands the severe heat and humidity challenges posed by the upcoming World Cup, which is set to be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Next month, Tuchel will travel to the U.S. to evaluate the Club World Cup and particularly observe the impact of afternoon games’ heat in Miami. However, prior to this, he plans to test the team’s heat tolerance through training camps in northeastern Spain. Tuchel stated, “We will monitor players’ reactions to the heat during training and study cooling strategies with the highest professional standards. The FA provides top-notch logistical support, allowing me to focus solely on tactical deployment.” High temperatures have become a major issue for the 2024 USA Copa America. Uruguayan player Ronald Araujo had to leave the field due to dizziness caused by heat during a match. Tuchel is currently in the midst of an intensive learning phase ahead of the World Cup, with this summer’s Club World Cup serving as an important preview opportunity.
