[Saba Sports News] During the qualifying session of the F1 Monaco Grand Prix last weekend, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen expressed dissatisfaction with the circuit layout. In a recent interview, he criticized the organizers without holding back. Verstappen said: “There were at least two life-threatening incidents today. If this continues, major crashes will happen for sure!” The circuit contains 18 turns, most of which are narrow, leaving space for only one car to pass at many locations, which leaves little room for error and requires extremely precise driving. Overtaking maneuvers demand precise control of speed, braking, and steering; even minor mistakes could result in collisions with barriers, damaging the car or causing retirement from the race. Unlike other modern circuits, the Monaco Grand Prix circuit lacks wide run-off areas, with barriers directly beside the track. A driver’s mistake could lead to severe damage if they hit the wall, increasing the risk significantly.
