[Saba Sports News] Zion Williamson’s accuser is reportedly seeking damages in the high eight-figure range.
The New Orleans Pelicans star is facing a disturbing new lawsuit filed this week in Los Angeles Superior Court by a woman claiming to be his former girlfriend. The woman alleges that Williamson engaged in “abusive, controlling, and threatening behavior” during their alleged relationship, which she says lasted from 2018 to 2023.
Among the most serious allegations in the suit, the woman — identified only as “Jane Doe” — claims that Williamson forced her to have sex multiple times and once pointed a loaded gun at her head. Additional accusations include choking and threats made against her and her family.
According to a report from ESPN’s Michael Wright, the plaintiff is seeking between $18 million and $50 million in damages. That amount reportedly includes both monetary and punitive damages for alleged emotional distress.
At the time the relationship allegedly began, Williamson was 18 years old and still a student-athlete at Duke University. Now 24, the two-time All-Star has just completed his sixth NBA season.
In response to the lawsuit, Williamson’s legal team has issued a strong public denial. They labeled the claims “categorically false and reckless,” asserting that Williamson and the plaintiff were never in a formal relationship, but rather shared a “consensual, casual” dynamic that ended years ago. The legal team also stated that Williamson intends to file a defamation countersuit against the plaintiff.
