[Saba Sports News] Since the Nurburgring track appeared as a substitute event on the calendar in 2020, the German Grand Prix has not returned since. Many people have speculated about its difficulty in returning. According to the latest media reports, the German Grand Prix is still difficult to return, with the main reason being financial issues. It is understood that hosting an F1 Grand Prix requires paying tens of millions of dollars to Liberty Media, the event owner, making it unprofitable. Although tracks such as Hockenheim are willing to host, economic feasibility is a major obstacle. Additionally, Germany’s government support for F1 events is insufficient, and due to political considerations, the government is more concerned with other matters and shows little interest in subsidizing F1 races. Meanwhile, Germany’s automobile manufacturers are no longer willing to participate in motorsport due to environmental factors, which reduces industry support for the event. The editor believes that this not only affects the number of on-site audiences and atmosphere of the event but also lowers sponsors’ interest and investment willingness in the German Grand Prix, forming a vicious cycle, making it harder for the race to return to Germany.
