[Saba Sports News] French media reports indicate that former Marseille striker Clinton N’Jie was ordered to pay €66,000 to a rental company for failing to pay car rental fees. In September 2017, N’Jie signed a €320,000 Bentley car leasing contract after joining Marseille in late August 2016. However, after transferring to Moscow Dinamo in 2019, he stopped making payments to the rental company. The vehicle was subsequently seized by the court and auctioned off. Currently playing for Rapid Bucharest in Romania, N’Jie did not appear in court to face French judicial authorities. The leasing service is more akin to “buying through rent” under legal terms, where N’Jie paid monthly rentals. At the end of the contract, he usually had an obligation and right to purchase the vehicle for a nominal price (such as 1 euro). Until then, the ownership remained with the leasing company. It is worth noting that N’Jie still has 1 year and 3 months left on his contract with Rapid Bucharest. However, he does not wish to continue in Romanian leagues, and the club also intends to terminate the contract early; they are preparing to dissolve the contract ahead of time.
