[Saba Sports News] Nike and Jordan Brand are setting up a strong second half of 2025, rolling out an exciting slate of drops and new releases. Among the highlights is the long-awaited return of the Air Jordan 12 “French Blue,” which had previously been rumored to receive a 2.0 update.
Instead, fans will be getting the original version, just as it was released in 2004 and retroed again in 2016. The classic colorway is officially set to hit shelves this August.
Often overshadowed by the iconic Jordan 11 and the uniquely styled Jordan 13, the Jordan 12 remains a fan-favorite for its clean design and Japanese “rising sun”-inspired construction.
While Michael Jordan never wore the “French Blue” 12s in an NBA game — as they debuted after his retirement — the colorway has long been viewed as a subtle nod to his time with the Washington Wizards.
Beloved for its crisp and timeless look, the “French Blue” edition will return in its original White/French Blue–Metallic Silver–Varsity Red color scheme.
The upper is built with premium tumbled white leather and stitched overlays that mimic the sunburst design. The standout French Blue mudguard wraps around the shoe and continues onto the outsole.
Finishing touches include metallic silver lace eyelets, a red “23” on the heel, subtle branding on the rear tab, and a small Jumpman logo on the tongue — all faithful to the OG release.
The Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” is set to release on August 16, 2025, at a retail price of $200. While past drops were limited, this year’s release is expected to be more widely available, in line with Jordan Brand’s recent approach to retro launches.
