[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, numerous fans have criticized the organization of the FIFA Club World Cup. Fans at the Paris Saint-Germain vs Atletico Madrid match held at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California described experiencing “dangerous” and “terrifying” conditions. With temperatures reaching at least 31 degrees Celsius, spectators not only struggled to obtain drinking water but also endured overcrowding. Several attendees told reporters that they had to discard unopened bottled water prior to entry, and many sick-looking individuals were seen throughout the venue. Queues to purchase water lasted 45 minutes. The stadium’s official policy generally permits bringing non-opened or empty single-use water bottles and reusable cups; however, FIFA regulations are strictly enforced, allowing only clear reusable plastic bottles under one liter, with all other types of containers prohibited (except for medical purposes or baby bottles). This historic stadium, operational since 1922, is already notorious for traffic congestion and crowded conditions, but midday heat exacerbated these issues—no seats are shaded, and most pathways outside are located on black asphalt surfaces. Multiple attendees reported this experience was far worse than usual, noting the venue frequently hosts UCLA American football games and other university leagues.
