[Saba Sports News] Red Bull driver Max Verstappen recently expressed his opinion on the Nürburgring North Circuit after testing it. He stated that the circuit is very dangerous and should not be part of the F1 schedule. Verstappen remarked after the test: “With our current F1 cars, it’s really impossible to race there; GT3 cars are acceptable, but F1 cars aren’t. I occasionally see old footage of F1 races on the North Ring, but those scenes can no longer happen now—it’s just too dangerous.” Since 1950, the Nürburgring North Circuit has hosted multiple German Grand Prix events, but after a severe accident involving Niki Lauda in 1976, F1 has never returned to this nearly 21-kilometer-long, heavily technical track. Although the track has undergone numerous safety upgrades, Verstappen believes the danger remains too high given modern F1’s performance and risks.
