[Saba Sports News] Former Red Bull driver Sergio Perez recently spoke about the decision to release him at the end of last year during an interview with the media. He believes that the team now regrets making that choice. “F1 is like that. They made a decision under huge pressure, and some of that pressure was self-inflicted. But from reliable sources, I know they feel regret.” We believe that based on the current performance of Red Bull’s second driver, Perez’s view has some basis. After Liam Lawson was promoted, he performed poorly and was replaced just two races into 2025. Yuki Tsunoda, meanwhile, only scored seven points in eight races, which contrasts sharply with his teammate Max Verstappen’s two championship wins in the same period. Compared to this, Perez had many strong performances during his time at Red Bull, helping the team win five races and finish second in the World Championship. From a purely results-based perspective, Red Bull’s current second driver has contributed far less than Perez.
