That season, she won 10 titles, including the World Championships and the Asian Games women’s singles gold medals, setting a record for the most titles by a female player in a single season. She claimed the world number one spot and was named the Best Female Player of the Year. Since then, An Se-young has continued to advance, winning the women’s singles gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. She became the first South Korean player to win the women’s singles title since Bang Soo-hyun in 1996, 28 years earlier. In 2025, An Se-young continued to dominate the women’s singles, with a record of 32 wins and 1 loss so far. She has already won 5 titles this season and is expected to break her own record of 10 titles.
