[Saba Sports News] After securing a dominant 20-second victory to claim their fourth win of the season at the Austrian Grand Prix, McLaren didn’t slow down. They brought a new upgrade directly to the Silverstone circuit. The MCL39 car will receive further enhancements at its home track. The team introduced a new underfloor to continuously improve its dominance in the championship battle. The new underfloor features an optimized geometry structure, improving airflow regulation and suction redistribution, thereby enhancing overall aerodynamic performance. At the same time, the rear brake duct inlet has been adjusted, helping to improve brake cooling and airflow management. Currently, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are ranked second and first in the drivers’ standings, with Piastri leading his teammate by 15 points. This pair has frequently taken the top two positions throughout the season, and the only threat remaining on the driver’s leaderboard is Max Verstappen. In my opinion, the Silverstone circuit is not only McLaren’s home track but also a symbol of a technical battle. Red Bull also introduced a new underfloor for the RB21 to optimize surface pressure distribution and reduce load, aiming to find a balance between airflow stability and performance. In comparison, Ferrari and Mercedes did not make significant upgrades, giving McLaren a clear advantage in the technical competition.
