[Saba Sports News] After the British Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing suffered another defeat, falling far behind McLaren in the standings. Later, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marco admitted to the media that the team is basically out of contention for the championship. Marco believes that major rule changes will take place in F1 in 2026, and wind tunnel usage time will be more important than in previous seasons. Last season, Red Bull ranked third, and according to F1’s aerodynamics testing restrictions, Red Bull had more wind tunnel testing time than McLaren and Ferrari in the first half of the 2025 season. If Red Bull gives up the 2025 season early, it can use this time more effectively for 2026 car development and try to gain an advantage in 2026. The editor believes that Red Bull performed poorly in the 2025 season. After 12 races, the team is ranked fourth, 288 points behind McLaren. Driver Max Verstappen is also 69 points behind the leader Oscar Piastri, and the chances of winning the title are slim. The car has shown problems such as insufficient turning since the start of the season, and subsequent upgrades and adjustments have not worked well. Continuing to invest resources to catch up in this season could be inefficient, so giving up early is a choice to avoid wasting resources.
