[Saba Sports News] Recently, Fiorentina officially announced that 59-year-old Italian coach Stefano Pioli has been appointed as the team’s new manager, signing a contract until 2028. In their official statement, Fiorentina announced that Stefano Pioli is the new head coach of the first team. Stefano Pioli played for Fiorentina from 1989 to 1995 and previously served as the club’s coach from 2017 to 2019. It is reported that Stefano Pioli has signed a contract binding him to the club until June 30, 2028. In May this year, Fiorentina parted ways with their previous coach Paulo Fonseca, who had led the team for less than a year, and last season they finished sixth in Serie A. In September 2024, Stefano Pioli took over as coach of Al-Nassr, and in the just-concluded season, Al-Nassr finished third in the Saudi Pro League, earning a spot in the next season’s AFC Champions League 2. The team was eliminated by Kawasaki Frontale in the semifinals of the AFC Champions League Elite. On June 25, Al-Nassr officially announced the termination of Stefano Pioli’s contract.
