[Saba Sports News] According to the latest reports from Spanish media, Barcelona has not yet submitted the necessary documents to the city government and therefore cannot obtain the permit required to host the 2025 Ganso Cup at Camp Nou. If this permit is not approved on time, Barcelona may have to abandon the plan of holding the Ganso Cup at Camp Nou and instead choose the smaller 6,000-capacity Johan Cruyff Stadium as an alternative. Camp Nou is one of Barcelona’s key revenue sources. During the two seasons when the club played at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium, Barcelona lost as much as 90 million euros in the first season alone. If the Ganso Cup cannot be held at Camp Nou or is only held at a smaller stadium, it could significantly impact the club’s financial situation, reducing ticket sales and merchandise revenue. Moreover, the original plan to make Camp Nou the new home venue for the league match against Valencia on September 15th now faces uncertainty, and the arrangement for the UEFA Champions League home games may also face challenges due to the delayed availability of Camp Nou.
