Sports News] According to reports from British media, Chelsea are set to
increase ticket prices for the 2024-25 season. This decision comes as a result
of the club facing continued rising operating costs and low profit margins.
Since 2018, Chelsea’s operating costs have risen by 31% due to inflationary
pressures in the football industry. Additionally, the club’s profit margin is
the lowest among the “Big 6” Premier League clubs, which places
constraints on their budget. It is worth noting that individual ticket prices
for Chelsea’s home games have remained unchanged since the 2011-12 season,
while season ticket prices have actually decreased by 32% since their last
increase. Compared to the other “Big 6” clubs, only Manchester City
have a lower average ticket price. In the London area, Arsenal, Tottenham, and
Fulham have notably high ticket prices. Prior to the 2023-24 season, 17 out of
the 20 Premier League teams had already increased their season ticket prices.
Taking these factors into consideration, Chelsea have made the decision to
raise game ticket prices. What are your thoughts on this development?
