Macau Open 2025 will officially begin from July 29 to August 3. As a Super300 event, the total prize money for this year’s Macau Open reaches $370,000 USD. Although this tournament lacks star players, it still features some highly skilled players while providing more opportunities for young competitors.
In the Men’s singles, the top seed, Lee Cheuk Yiu (Hong Kong), will anchor the upper half. Lee possesses excellent footwork and attacking ability, delivering first-class offensive performances. He can overpower strong opponents in short rallies, but as matches drag on, he tends to struggle with endurance, leading to potential losses. Nevertheless, this does not hinder Lee from being a fast-paced, aggressive player. Notably, his biggest threat in the upper half is the fourth seed, Jason Teh (Singapore). At his peak, Teh is an “offensive, skilled refined, but flawed” player—his defensive and stamina limitations prevent him from reaching the elite tier. If he improves these areas, he could raise his ceiling.
In the lower half, the second seed, Lakshya Sen (India), stands out. As the new-generation “Indian No. 1,” the 24-year-old displays remarkable maturity in his mental and tactical game. However, Lakshya’s offensive power is relatively weak, rarely scoring outright winners, but his control and defensive skills are superb, minimizing unforced errors. His main weakness is poor stamina, making long rallies a challenge. If he enhances his endurance and attacking options, he has significant room for growth. Also in the lower half is the third seed, Ng Ka Long (Hong Kong), whose style revolves around drop-and-attack tactics and precise shot placement. Though not a power hitter, Ng excels at pressuring opponents through controlled rallies, using quick smashes or drops to force weak returns before capitalizing on net play.
This year’s Macau Open is full of unpredictability—any player could break out as a dark horse. Every competitor must give their all, learn from each match, and elevate their level. Let’s look forward to thrilling performances at the 2025 Macau Open, where players will surely showcase their skills and strive for new achievements.
