[Saba Sports News] India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is expected to play the second Test of the ongoing series against South Africa if a PTI report is to be believed.
Notably, Jadeja was a sure-shot starter in India’s line-up for the first Test but complained of upper back spasm on the morning of the match as India then had to include Ravichandran Ashwin in the XI.
While India lost the opening Test by an innings and 32 runs within three days, a positive news emerged within their camp before the play began on the third day.
As reported by PTI, Jadeja engaged in the warm-up session. He ran 30 to 40 metre short strides, showing no signs of discomfort. He was also seen doing fitness drills.
During the lunch break, the left-arm spinner rolled over his fingers on the practice wicket as team’s strength amd conditioning coach Ranjikant watched him bowl for around 20 minutes.
With India 0-1 down in the series, they would want a full-strength unit at their disposal for the second Test scheduled in Cape Town. As that fixture is still four days away, there is a great possibility of Jadeja making his comeback.
