[Saba Sports News] With more than two weeks until the next Dutch Grand Prix, McLaren’s technical director Dan Keyworth recently talked to the media about the holiday plans during this busy period. He said his department has been extremely busy as they continue to adjust the F1 cars, leaving little time to truly slow down. Keyworth said, “90% of the car components will be changed throughout the season, showing the continuous innovation in this sport. If you consider how we deploy upgrades to the car, we design it, build it, and take it to the track. We use free practice to test new parts for future races.” He believes IT is the foundation of the McLaren team. IT must keep up with the pace of racing innovations and the development of IT during the F1 season. Keyworth’s responsibilities involve operating cutting-edge technology for the car, including deploying all IT infrastructure used at each race and maintaining the IT systems that ensure the smooth operation of the McLaren team.
