[Saba Sports News] Regarding the comments made by Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko about Max Verstappen’s poor performance during the disastrous weekend at the Hungarian Grand Prix, the four-time F1 champion himself gave a pointed response. During the qualifying session at the Hungaroring, the reigning world champion finished eighth, and in the race, he failed to make a comeback, finishing ninth. After the race, when interviewed by the media, Marko seemed confident, saying that the problem with Verstappen had been identified, and added, “I don’t think this will happen again in other races.” However, his driver quickly rebutted this assessment, admitting that he was far from confident that the issue would be easily resolved. Verstappen told the media, “That was easy to say. I was slow all weekend, and we couldn’t find any grip. Of course, we have our own ideas about where the problem lies, but I can’t always explain it in detail. I struggled especially in the slow corners, and everyone left me behind.” Currently, this Dutch driver is 97 points behind the championship leader Oscar Piastri. Now, he has only 10 races left to stage an unlikely comeback, with the first being the home Grand Prix at Zandvoort after the summer break.
