[Saba Sports News] According to F1 reporters, Laurent Mekies, the technical director of Red Bull Racing, stated that the issues facing the RB21 car cannot simply be solved by copying elements from the more stable AlphaTauri car. So far this season, the drivers of AlphaTauri have performed far better than Red Bull’s second driver-whether it’s Liam Lawson or Yuki Tsunoda, who replaced him. At the recent Hungarian Grand Prix, even Max Verstappen finished behind Lawson, who had returned to AlphaTauri. After the qualifying session, Sky F1 asked Mekies whether Red Bull could learn from AlphaTauri’s design to improve the performance of the RB21. He denied the idea. Mekies said, “I think the question is reasonable, but each car has its ‘genetic code’. The development origins of the two cars are too different to transfer any elements from one to the other. That’s the current situation in Formula One. You see, there are 10 independent teams, each with their own unique views on car development, challenges faced during the process, and different paths of development. No single element can be directly applied from one car to another. It all depends on the path that the car takes from the early development stages.”
