Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, the EFL has announced that a commemorative armband will be introduced for this season’s EFL Cup. The first round of the 202–26 EFL Cup has already started, and the EFL has unveiled a special update to the armband, aimed at honoring the history of the competition and celebrating Newcastle United‘s historic win last season. To mark the 65th anniversary of this iconic tournament, both the defending champions and past winners will wear the EFL Cup commemorative armbands to celebrate their achievements. The new armband features the EFL Cup’s signature green color and includes tributes to each club’s number of wins. Newcastle, the EFL Cup champions last season, will wear a gold armband with the number “1” to commemorate their first title. As the competition progresses, 24 teams will have the opportunity to wear commemorative armbands with the number of their previous wins, with 11 of them currently in the Premier League. In the history of the EFL Cup, Liverpool has won the most with 10 titles, followed by Manchester City with 8, and Manchester United with 6.
