[Saba Sports News] According to foreign media reports, former Williams F1 driver Logan Sargeant will return to the track in September, having signed up to compete in the final two rounds of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Sargeant will represent PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports in the LMP2 category and will compete at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Road Atlanta. The American driver left the F1 circuit midway through the 2024 season due to a series of disappointing performances. After that, Sargeant had planned to join the Hypercar class of the World Endurance Championship this year, but the deal fell through. However, the driver has now confirmed his return to racing, and he will be driving the LMP2 car alongside teammates Benjamin Pedersen and Naveen Rao. Sargeant said, “I’m really excited to return to racing and compete in the final two LMP2 races for PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports. It’s a great opportunity to drive on these special tracks-Indianapolis and Road Atlanta-and to work with Ben and Naveen to achieve good results. I look forward to contributing my knowledge and experience to the team and helping everyone succeed in these two races.” Sargeant’s first race in the series will be the six-hour endurance race at Indianapolis on September 21.
