[Saba Sports News] In the recent 2025 BWF World Championships men’s singles final, Thai star Kunlavut Vitidsarn lost 1-2 to Shi Yuqi, finishing as runner-up. Upon returning to Thailand and speaking to media, Kunlavut revealed that his form was not good before the World Championships, and he was even worried about an early exit in the first round. Kunlavut said: “Before leaving, my form wasn’t good, I was even worried about going out in the first round, but ultimately reaching the final is already great.” He also revealed that he spoke with Shi Yuqi after the final, congratulating and showing mutual respect, as they are good friends. It is reported that after participating in the China Masters, Kunlavut will return home to prepare for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games held in Thailand. Kunlavut stated he will participate in the men’s team event but might not play in the individual event because it conflicts with the schedule of the BWF World Tour Finals. It is worth mentioning that Kunlavut became the first Thai athlete to reach the final of this tournament (World Championships) three times in a row, and therefore was greeted at the airport by Air Chief Marshal Montong, President of the Badminton Association of Thailand.
