[Saba Sports News] Recently, MLS officially announced that Luis Suarez has been suspended for 3 MLS regular-season matches for spitting at an opposing staff member during the Leagues Cup final, while Sergio Busquets did not receive an additional suspension. In the Leagues Cup final, Inter Miami lost 0-3 to Seattle Sounders, and after the match, a conflict broke out between the two teams. Suarez spat at an opposing staff member, and Busquets threw a punch at Seattle midfielder Vargas. MLS has now announced the disciplinary decisions regarding the post-match incidents: Suarez is suspended for 3 MLS regular-season matches and will miss the games on September 14 (away against Charlotte FC), September 17 (home against Seattle Sounders), and September 21 (home against D.C. United). Seattle Sounders staff member Steven Renhart has had his credentials revoked for the remainder of the 2025 regular season and playoffs. During home games, Renhart is only allowed in public viewing areas and is prohibited from entering the field, locker rooms, and player tunnel areas. His credentials will be reassessed before the 2026 season. The Seattle Sounders club has been fined an undisclosed amount for improper use of credentials.
